A darkly comic, Mel Brooks style parody of the famous D.H. Lawrence novel.

(Contains strong language and scenes of a sexual nature. Age Guidance 16+)

Now Booking Venues for Autumn 2021

Think The Naked Gun and Airplane! mixed with a steamy costume drama in this laughter-filled parody of the D.H. Lawrence novel.

Lady Chatterley welcomes her husband, Clifford, home from a war that has left the world in tatters. And sadly, nothing feels the same as he arrives at Wragby Hall confined to a wheelchair and clutching his secret.

Despite her husband’s new found impotence, a subject that all struggle to avoid; Constance entertains the idea that one day they could have a child. However, with Clifford’s obsession for his industrial pursuits, Constance ventures into a passionate, sexual and curiously experimental affair with the estate gamekeeper: Mellors.

Expect high drama, high comedy and highly raised eyebrows in what will be a fantastic show for those who know the novel as well as those who are coming to it for the first time.

“…will quite simply leave you wiping the tears of laughter from your face.”

“Subersive, Iventive and as witty as it was rude.” – East Anglian Daily Times

Stephen Wrentmore (Lighthouse Theatre Poole)

Not: Lady Chatterley’s Lover is silly and irreverent, masterfully delivered and great fun. It brings together the best of clowning with the absurdity of love. Think The Naked Gun and Airplane! and mix it with a stiff upper lip and forget-me-nots.

Oscar French (King’s Head Theatre, London)

Not: Lady Chatterly’s Lover was slick, laugh-out-loud funny and downright entertaining. A fantastic introduction to the novel for those who have never read it, a mischevious new spin for those that have and fun for absolutely everyone.

Stephen Harper (Told by An Idiot)

Working with Lawrence and Happy Idiot was a real pleasure. Their approach to each new idea is full of skill, passion and wit.

Annie Sertich (Groundlings LA Main Company)

After working with Happy Idiot, I watched Not: Lady Chatterley’s Lover next to someone in their 20s and someone in their 70s. Both loved it. That, to me, is good theater!
